Angels and Airwaves make their return to Detroit
Formed in 2005 during a hiatus, then-Blink182 guitarist Tom Delonge teamed up with fellow Box Car Racer member David Kennedy to bring Angels and Airwaves to life. After 16 years and a few line-up changes, (now including Nine Inch Nails Drummer and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Ilan Rubin and former Taking Back Sunday Bassist Matt Rubano), AVA hit the road again on a worldwide tour on the heels of their 6th studio album “Lifeforms.” The critically acclaimed new album marks their first studio album since the 2014 release, “The Dream Walker.”
Delonge says this was the most difficult album he’s ever made but is confident with the exploration in the process of making it, stating “Even though we like to think we do, in my experience, we don’t know everything.” With the release of “Lifeforms” comes the directorial debut of Delonge with his sci-fi adventure feature film “Monsters of California,” playing in theaters later this year.
Angels and Airwaves hit the stage of The Fillmore Detroit on October 10th with support from Los angeles natives, Bad Sun.
