Femmes of Rock Did, Indeed, Rock District 142
Coming from Las Vegas, Femmes of Rock brought their unique take on rock with strings with a little something extra to District 142. They opened the show with the Star Spangled Banner which drew from Hendrix's famous Woodstock version. From there they went into a Rush tribute with Tom Sawyer and others. The Femmes of Rock are both an awesome sound and sight to behold. 4 beautiful women playing violins and cello to incredible rocks songs in their own orchestrated way. They also brought vocals in providing harmony to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and other songs. They even brought their soundman out to do a standout Led Zeppelin set. They also rocked out to Metallica's "Enter Sandman" and Nirvana's "Smell's Like Teenage Spirit". Given the crowd size and appreciation, I'm sure Femmes of Rock will be back to Michigan and when they are I'll make sure I'm there again.
