The Energy of a Hometown Show: Chloe Moriondo and mxmtoon
Being from michigan, the amount of musicians that come from the mitten is astounding. I’ve seen a few michigan artists perform in Detroit: Eminem, Alice Cooper, Insane clown posse, Twiztid, Walls of Jericho, I Prevail, Death, King810, in a more innocent time Kid rock. I’ve also driven to Columbus to see Twentyone Pilots on one of their “Tour De Columbus” shows. And there is something about the energy of a hometown show. Seeing Chloe Moriondo and her band perform to the crowd at the Majestic in Detroit was electric; performing crowd favorites “Bodybag” and the Jennifer’s Body inspired “I eat Boys.” Hopefully next time she’s in town, she’s the headliner.
It was the perfect way to warm up the crown for the california native mxmtoon. Both artist bring the best of the youtube Bedroom lofi pop and mxmtoon kept the mood With a set list of almost 20 songs, including the new hit “sad Disco” and “Fever Dream.” The crowd were absolutely Inthralled as mxmtoon ran down more great songs, like “Cliche,” “No Faker” and “Florida.” Promoting her new album “rising,” the tour continues in the states for another month before heading to Europe in October.
